Why do we like Scotchies Jerk Hut?
Firstly it is a “must stop” when you get to Jamaica! There are multiple Scotchies restaurants located throughout the island and they are all known for their authentic Jamaican jerk chicken and jerk pork. Along with great food and a real Jamaican outdoor atmosphere, the prices are relatively reasonable, especially for the famous Jamaican jerk chicken. This is a no-frills type restaurant. The appearance is rather rustic and authentic. It is situated outdoors and is quite casual. Besides the authentic Jamaican jerk chicken seasoning is the open roasting on pimento sticks so that the taste can soak through the marinated meats. Our favorite dish is the Jamaican jerk chicken. For sides, you can choose from Jamaican festival, rice & peas, yam, roasted breadfruit to sweet potato which are all delicious. For the adults, don’t forget to wash it all down with a very cold Red Stripe Beer. The kids can try a cold drink of coconut water or a bottle of Ting (grapefruit soda).
